Poem Writing of Hamesh Khalil

Abstract

Hamesh Khalil is a versatile author of Pashto language. He is a poet, a short story writer, a critic and a researcher simultaneously. This paper is about his poem writing. He has published four collections of poetry i-e Naghma zaar, Zama sandary, Khapoona aw Khaloona, Sooghat and besides this a short collections of national songs in 1965. Nationalism, Realism, Patriotism, Progressivism, Peace and Sympathy for the whole humanity are the main themes of his poems. Due to archaic words of Pashto and innovative similes and metaphors his style is distinguished from other and very near to classics. This paper is an attempt to present a critical review of this poems to the readers of Pashto language and literature.
